Honoured by a NASA jacket by the NASA transition authorization act yesterday, President Donald Trump seems to have ambitious aspirations for the space industry.
He looks on for NASA to explore every kind of biological and life oppurtunities on the red planet – Mars. Though getting to Mars isn’t expected during Trump’s tenure, the mission is aimed at 2030’s. He has signed S.442 funding to NASA in lieu of legislation which aims to support astronauts, scientists and engineers as per Mr. Trump.
This will be a manned mission with an objective to discover more exploration projects in to deep space. Following this bill, NASA will now actively focus to reach new possibilities and gain insights of red planet as well as our solar system. Trump had allocated $19.1 billion to NASA for this year.
NASA outlined its plan for Mars in 36 page report where it wants to hit specific achievements in order to keep the momentum of space trek going. Coming months, NASA plans to put on test its Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket. Furthermore they want to visit an asteroid and redirecting a chunk or debris of it to orbit around moon. This will help astronauts later to test their tools and machinery for mars mission.
Overall this is an interesting progression from the US government as President says he wants to support NASA’s “pursuit of discovery.”
